Our story begins when Nirjan was on a family vacation in California in August 2017. They were well on their way to San Diego, when Nirjan's dad recommended a quick detour to visit an old friend in Los Angeles, Kusu's mom. Nirjan disagreed, but his dad insisted on stopping by quickly. Kusu was not interested in meeting a boy especially one from Texas, and Nirjan was still annoyed about having to have a detour from his carefully planned trip. When she opened the door in her oversized Beatles T-shirt, he immediately thought to himself, "who is this Californian Hippie?". As the two of us sat in the backyard with our brothers, the chemistry was palpable. As our brothers listened to us flirt, they knew this was not the only time we would meet again. We had our first date in December 2017 and we've continued to grow as adults and as partners since then. We are beyond excited to take next big step in December 2024. Within the past 7 years, we met, fell in love, moved in together, adopted two beautiful cats and now cannot wait to tie the knot.
